Risk Based Inspection
Risk Based Inspection (RBI) is a process of examining equipment in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and business risk of ‘active’ and ‘potential’ Damage Mechanisms to assess and rank failure probability and consequence. The Types of RBI are Qualitative, Quantitative and Semi-quantitative and the ranking criteria is used to optimize intervals on site acceptable risk level & operating limits to mitigate the risks as appropriate. The RBI methods are based on API 653 and API 580/581
